A Street Art Walk Through Sheffield

Following our Tea & Street Art post we thought we’d show you some of the street art you can find around Sheffield, so you get the picture 🙂

These are just a handful of the hundreds of superb pieces adorning the Sheffield landscape, from just a few of the many amazing artists out there. Sorry if we’ve not featured your work – it’s not personal. Give us a shout and we will!

A couple of the snaps are old, so the art isn’t around anymore, some snaps are new, some snaps are borrowed, courtesy of the wonderful Street Art Sheffield website. There’s even a blue one. Colour. Not, like, porn.

: A new mural by Kid Acne on the side of a building overlooking Wellington Street Car Park, Sheffield City Centre.

: Internationally acclaimed, Sheffield based artist Phlegm, on the outside of the Rutland Pub (Tea Maestro Marc’s favourite pub in town. Well, one of a couple…)

: Local artist (and legend) Pete McKee’s mural on the outside of Fagan’s Pub, Broad Lane. (Marc’s other favourite pub…)

: Another Kid Acne mural outside of Sheffield City Centre.

: There are a few Rocket01 murals like this around Sheffield and this Darwin one is a belter.

: Mural by Jo Peel on the outside of Haggler’s Corner, a great space for yoga and events with an awesome little cafe.

: Mural of Sir David Attenborough by Rocket01 at Brown Lane

: This has been there as long as Marc’s been alive. Bang in the centre of town, things have changed since this was created!

: Kid Acne Unemployed Gods at Parkhill Flats – the original “Streets in the Sky” and protected by their listed status. Parkill is generally disliked as a blight on the skyline but is being redeveloped in a gentrification process currently.

: Another Phlegm mural in the archway at APG Works on Silver St.

: Harry Brearley – one of Sheffield’s finest – the man who invented Stainless Steel, is commemorated on the back of The Howard pub by Faunagraphic.

: The lion as part of a 50m or so long installation on the outside of The Hubs – Sheffield Hall University Students Union

: One of the most famous Phlegm murals in the centre of Sheffield.

: Another Rocket01 piece of Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, near to the Sir David Attenborough piece

: Oldschool street art! This steelworker made of bricks was commissioned in the 1980s.

: This art was painted on some boards where the old Republic Nightclub, where Marc spent most of his youth (later called Gatecrasher1) once stood. Now fancy appartments.
